According to <em>Freddie Mac<\/em>, rates hit all-time lows\u00a0<a title=\"12 times\" href=\"https:\/\/freddiemac.gcs-web.com\/node\/21371\/pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">12 times<\/a>\u00a0this year, dipping\u00a0<a title=\"below 3%\" href=\"https:\/\/www.simplifyingthemarket.com\/2020\/07\/17\/mortgage-rates-fall-below-3-infographic\/?a=610978-203cf30af1e15a5de8a63d55ab30d1b4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">below 3%<\/a>\u00a0for the first time ever while making buying a home more and more attractive as the year progressed\u00a0<em>(See graph below):<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"kcm-post-minimal-content\">\n<div class=\"kcm-post-minimal-content\">\n<div class=\"kcm-post-minimal-content\">\n<div class=\"kcm-post-minimal-content\">\n<div class=\"kcm-post-minimal-content\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/files.simplifyingthemarket.com\/2020\/11\/17170032\/20201119-MEM-Eng-1-1.jpg?a=610978-203cf30af1e15a5de8a63d55ab30d1b4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-96505\" src=\"https:\/\/files.mykcm.com\/2020\/11\/17170032\/20201119-MEM-Eng-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"Will Mortgage Rates Remain Low Next Year? | MyKCM\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a>When you continually hear how rates are hitting record lows, you may be wondering:\u00a0<em>Are they going to keep falling? Should I wait until they get even lower?<\/em><\/p>\n<h4><strong>The Challenge with Waiting<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The challenge with waiting is a lot like the challenge of trying to predict the future.\u00a0 \u00a0The truth is the future is not predictable, but projections can be made.\u00a0 Last week, mortgage rates ticked up slightly. Sam Khater, <em>Chief Economist<\/em>\u00a0at\u00a0<em>Freddie Mac,<\/em>\u00a0<a title=\"explains\" href=\"https:\/\/freddiemac.gcs-web.com\/node\/21396\/pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">explains<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201c<strong>Mortgage rates jumped this week<\/strong>\u00a0as a result of positive news about a COVID-19 vaccine. Despite this rise, mortgage rates remain about a percentage point below a year ago.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While rates are still lower today than they were one year ago, as the economy continues to get stronger and the pandemic resolved, there\u2019s a very good chance interest rates will rise again.
